It starts in my toes and I crinkle my nose wherever it goes I always know that you make me smile…………….

These past few weeks have been Amazing ones but emotional as well, as it’s finally sunk in that Laken and I year together is coming to an end. I have mixed feelings about him turning one, going back to work and everything in which that entails.

I can’t wait for his birthday party and for him to see everything we have planned, excited to share and celebrate his first year of life with family and friends. Sad because it seems like we blinked and now he’s one. There is also a part of that is excited to go back to work as I love being a Nurse and love my job…..but then I’m upset that I wont be home all the time with him, that there is a possibility that I’ll miss something…..I go back and forth but always feel blessed that I don’t have the worries of Day care or Day homes ( although there’s worries that Laken wont have the social skills those in daycare do…even though its not likely with how busy with activities we are..) I take great comfort in the fact that either Mark or I will be home with Laken and on the odd days when our sched conflict he’ll be with his Grandma in the comfort of our home. That I have a job that’s close enough where I can run home if need be and have the ability to call home.

So that’s where I’m at right now a bit of an emotional rollercoaster but I know we’ll all adjust fine and we’ve been able to get in some great family time and have a few more trips planned before I return to work. These last few weeks we’ve been busy camping, hiking, fishing, sight seeing, visiting museums, interpretive centers, ice cream parlours, air show’s, family reunions and some relaxing time at home! Laken is as busy as ever climbing on everything, free standing and I think we’ve finally left behind the army crawl and have chosen to crawl “normal” full time now…..We now say a few more words besides “Hi Daddy”, Laken can now also say; Juice, kitty, and up….plus he signs like crazy! It’s amazing when an 11 month old can tell you he’s all done playing and is ready for bed, each time he signs to us it blows our mind and am so glad he’s able to communicate with us and not become frustrated.

This last year truly has been one of the best years of our lives and we’re just so excited for everything that is yet to come and all the great memories that are just waiting to be created! We hope the summer has found all of you just as well. Here are some photos of our Summer thus far, hope you enjoy!
